Gabe's Concussion

"What happened? My ear is like buzzing..."

The day of Gabe's sad concussion we played at the adventure dome and had lots of fun. Too bad he can't remeber any of it. :)

As sad as it is the way Gabe fell is hilarious. When your mother or a park worker tells you not to sit on the railing while waiting in line, don't just roll your eyes and still sit there... Get the HELL off it. Gabe was sitting on the railing minding his own business when all of a sudden he slipped and hit the side of his head right on the concrete floor. The sound of his had smashing into the ground was spine crawling.

Immediatly after he hit his head he didn't know where he was or what had happened. We waiting for a security guard for 15 minutes just to show up and tell me nothing. I finally got him to the first aid room. Too bad it was another security guard that had no idea either. At this time Gabe kept on repeating his questions. He had a ten second relapse. Like Ten second Tom in 50 First Dates. I asked the security guard to call an ambulance and he looked at me and said, "I have to have him tell me he wants an ambulance." I said, "I am his wife call the ambulance." He continued to say, " I have to have his permission." Mean while, Gabe had no idea what was going on or where he was. I got Gabe to focus enough to ask for an Ambulance, while he was laughing and asking, "what happened? Did I really fall?"
When the paramedics got there the quickly loaded him up and we took off to the hospital. They told me that with an injury like this there is a possiblity he could have bleeding in the brain that could cause minor brain damage. SALT ON THE SORE WOUND!!! After four long hours we got the cat scan results and he onl had a concussion. I was so happy to hear that. I had no idea what was coming up that night.
When we got him home, he started having major panic attacks. Where he couldn't breathe. It was scary!!
It took him a day in a half to start remembering. Like the year, his birthday, how old he was, where he worked, the president and so on.
Still to this day he can't remember that day at the Adventure Dome or the night before watching 10,000 BC.
